The summit of MOUNT KILIMANJARO was the setting for an audacious world record attempt in aid of the “Smile Train” charity on Monday 22nd February 2010
Sound Driver, a 5-piece band from the UK and Ireland, successfully played a live concert at 19,341ft (5,895m) on the top of the volcanic mountain of Kilimanjaro in aid of the cleft palate charity and, by doing so, set a new World Record for the Highest Altitude Electrically Powered Rock Gig. There has never been a powered musical performance at anything close to the height of Mount Kilimanjaro and there has never been a rock concert on top of a volcano.
The band used Traps Drums because of the portability and sound of the kit
